I’m a big ice cream and gelato fan (and milkshakes, of course), but frozen yogurt is sometimes a little bit of a letdown with washed-out flavors. This one was pretty good though, and blueberries are one of my favorite fruits. It’s a yummy, refreshing dessert perfect for the heat wave we’re having this week. I’m looking forward to pairing it with some vanilla ice cream, and maybe even creating a milkshake with it!
Blueberry Frozen Yogurt
3 cups blueberries
1 1/2 cups plain or greek yogurt
3/4 cups sugar
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 tablespoon Framboise or Kirsch (or any other fruit liquor)
In a blender, combine all the ingredients. Blend and you can strain out the seeds if you like. Chill for at least an hour in the refrigerator. Pour into an ice cream maker and freeze according to the machine’s instructions.
love the addition of Greek yogurt–so pretty:-)
Looks delicious, have never made frozen yogurt. Did you use full fat or reduced/zero fat yogurt for this?
Full fat will have better texture and flavor, but I’ve made it with low fat as well.
It looks delicious! Now I am missing summer even more. Today is cold and grey in Cape Town!
I luv, luv blueberries. Eat them on everything but vegetables. This looks great.
Mmmm, so fresh!
Thanks for your summer recipe. So fresh!
This looks delicious (I especially like the liquor addition) and so simple.
