About

There are tons of food blogs out there, so many that I can’t keep track of all the ones I’d like to read. I was not intending this for general consumption, it was more of a place for me to keep track of recipes and occasionally share them with friends….but as with a lot of things on the internet, it seems to have expanded beyond.

One day while I was cooking, I realized there was no way I was going to remember what I had just made and it was so tasty, it seemed like a shame. I kept adjusting the recipe to use up leftovers (something I do a lot), and it ended up being delicious. But I didn’t write down the ingredients I had used, and I chalked it up to a one-time recipe. Then I realized I should actually start to keep track. And so, this idea took shape. I’m not a seasoned photographer, but I hope to get better through this blog.

I am an avid food network fan, and I’m starting to miss the days of Gourmet magazine. I love Italian food, and I give credit for most of what I’ve learned to watching Mario Batali, Michael Chiarello, and David Rocco on the food network. I’m also a huge fan of Ina Garten and I think Giada DeLaurentiis makes food look beautiful.

I love going to the greenmarket and picking up fresh ingredients to create something. I think I go to about a half dozen different supermarkets and stores on a regular basis. And my favorite Sundays are when I get to put on some music and cook something yummy for some friends.

Back on the topic of photography, I should mention that all photos and content are my own, unless otherwise noted. If you would like to reproduce anything, please do so with appropriate attribution.

I got into writing recipes in exactly the same way, inventing dishes using leftovers. Though I’m 90-100% vegetarian (eat fish now and then), with low dairy – so am constantly challenging myself to find new, interesting ways to prepare food.
