Nectarine Frozen Yogurt - Meatballs & MIlkshakes

It’s true, I didn’t just make this recipe. It’s been a little crazy around the apartment between work and foster dogs…well, maybe you still have access to wonderful nectarines. I can only think wistfully about when I made this batch at the end of summer. I tend to use nectarines because we get more reliably delicious nectarines here, but use peaches if you get great ones. It took all my self control not to eat the whole batch in one sitting, it’s really that good. I think this may be my favorite frozen dessert yet.

Nectarine Frozen Yogurt

5 nectarines, 4 cut into 1 inch dice and 1 cut into 1/2 inch dice and reserved

1/4 cup sugar

2 tablespoons agave

1 cup water

3 tablespoons peach schnapps or brandy

1 cup greek yogurt

1/4 cup heavy cream

Bring water, sugar, and agave up to a boil in a saucepan and remove from heat. Add the 4 nectarines and the alcohol. Refrigerate overnight. Blend in a blender with the yogurt and cream. Freeze in an ice cream maker according to instructions. Once it is completely frozen, add in the remaining nectarine pieces and stir to combine. Freeze in a plastic container until fully frozen or eat as is if you like the soft-serve consistency.
