Barbados

For those who know me, you know I love to travel. And I also love to plan. Without bragging too much, I’m pretty good at researching a trip. The one thing I can’t control though, is the weather. I was recently in Barbados for 5 days and it rained for most of the trip. Of course, it was nice just being on vacation, and we managed to have fun anyway…it would have been nice to have some more sun though.

I chose the Bougainvillea Resort and Silver Point Hotel. Bougainvillea was nice because it was on a lovely beach and of course the swim-up bar.

I loved the walks on the beach, in particular.

Silver Point was more Miami with the pool and daybeds. The food was the best we had on the island at a significantly better value and the ladies working there were so sweet.

We took a day trip up towards Bathsheba the day we had a car. This is the famous surfing spot, and it was certainly pretty. The waves in Barbados seemed pretty serious, definitely not for beginners over in this area.

The Friday night fish fry in Oistins is a big night out. There are several little fry shacks where they all do the typical Barbados fried food. And of course the ubiquitous macaroni pie. We got a recommendation (Bellamy’s) from our favorite waitress/bartender at Silver Point, Richelle. Totally delicious food! I think we got out fill of fried food for a while, but it was fantastic!

Too bad the trip felt so short!
